Step-Up SIP Calculator — Real Fund Returns, Growing SIP
Every other step-up SIP calculator assumes a fixed 12% return. This one uses actual historical NAV from real Indian mutual funds — and increases your SIP amount every year exactly as you plan. See what your growing SIP would have actually built.

Every step-up SIP calculator in India uses an assumed return rate — you enter 12% and it shows a projected corpus. That number is a mathematical estimate, not a reflection of how any real fund actually performed. Markets go up, they go down, they stagnate. No fund delivers exactly 12% every year.
This calculator is different. You pick a real Indian mutual fund, set your starting SIP amount, choose your annual step-up percentage, and the tool simulates your growing SIP month by month using actual historical NAV data. Year 1 your monthly amount buys units at real Year 1 prices. Year 2 your increased amount buys units at real Year 2 prices. The final corpus reflects what actually happened in markets — not what 12% assumes.
This is the only step-up SIP calculator in India that works this way. Use it to see how a disciplined, growing SIP in a real fund would have built wealth over time.

💡 How This Calculator Works
Most step-up SIP calculators use a fixed assumed return rate. This one is different — it uses actual historical NAV data and increases your SIP amount every year on the anniversary of your start date.
01
Real NAV from Your DB
We fetch actual daily NAV history of the fund you pick — from our database updated nightly from AMFI. No assumed rates.
02
Annual Step-Up Applied
Every 12 months from your start date, your monthly SIP amount increases by your chosen percentage — just like a real step-up SIP mandate.
03
Monthly Unit Purchase
Each month we look up the actual NAV and calculate how many units your SIP amount — growing each year — would have bought at that price.
04
XIRR on All Cash Flows
XIRR is calculated across all monthly investments — each at its actual date and amount — giving the most accurate annualised return measure.
📖 What Is a Step-Up SIP and Why Does It Matter?
A Step-Up SIP — also called a Top-Up SIP — is a Systematic Investment Plan where your monthly investment amount increases by a fixed percentage every year. Instead of investing ₹5,000 every month for 10 years, you start at ₹5,000 and increase it by 10% each year. By Year 5 you are investing ₹7,320 per month. By Year 10, ₹11,789 per month.
This mirrors how most people's incomes grow — and it dramatically increases the final corpus compared to a flat SIP. The reason is compounding: larger instalments in the later years benefit from fewer years of growth, but the sheer size of each instalment adds significantly to the corpus. Combined with the compounding effect on earlier instalments, the result is a substantially larger final amount.
Most step-up SIP calculators available online use an assumed annual return — typically 12% — which tells you nothing about how a specific fund actually performed. This calculator is different. It uses the actual historical NAV of the fund you choose, simulates the exact monthly unit purchases with your growing SIP amount, and calculates XIRR across all cash flows — giving you the most accurate picture of what a step-up SIP in a real fund would have actually built.

Frequently Asked Questions
What step-up % should I choose? +
Most financial planners recommend a step-up percentage close to your expected annual salary increment — typically 8-12% for salaried employees. A 10% annual step-up is the most common choice. Higher step-ups build more wealth but require committing to larger amounts each year.
How much more does a step-up SIP build vs regular SIP? +
It depends on the step-up % and duration. At 10% annual step-up over 10 years starting at ₹5,000/month, you invest ₹9.56 lakh instead of ₹6 lakh — but at 12% assumed CAGR, the corpus is ₹17.48 lakh vs ₹11.61 lakh. The higher corpus comes from both larger investments and compounding on those larger amounts. Use this calculator with a real fund to see actual results.
Can I pause or modify a step-up SIP? +
Yes. Step-up SIP mandates can be modified or paused like regular SIPs on most platforms. The annual increase is automatic — you need to update the NACH mandate if you want to change the increment. Consult your fund platform for specific steps.
Is step-up SIP available in all mutual funds? +
Most AMCs and platforms support step-up SIP — also called top-up SIP. Platforms like Zerodha Coin, Kuvera, and MFCentral all offer it. The minimum step-up amount and percentage vary by platform. Check your platform for specific limits before setting up.
