Which Mutual Funds Hold Any Stock in India?

Every month, SEBI requires all mutual funds in India to publish their complete portfolio holdings — every stock they hold, in every scheme, along with the portfolio weight and market value. RightAdvise collects and processes these disclosures from 1,200+ mutual fund schemes across all AMCs and makes this data searchable in one place. This is the only free tool in India that lets you search any stock and instantly see how many active mutual funds hold it, at what weight, and how that has changed over the last three months.

The 3-month trend table shows whether fund managers have been consistently adding or reducing a stock — a rising fund count over three consecutive months is a strong signal of growing institutional conviction. You can also explore all mutual funds, check top stocks held by mutual funds, or see stock holdings by sector.

How Do You Use This Stock Holdings Tool?

Type any company name in the search box above — partial names work. For example, typing "Tata" will show all Tata group stocks, and selecting one will show every mutual fund that holds it. For each fund you can see the exact portfolio weight and the rupee value of the holding based on the latest AMFI disclosure.

The insights panel shows how many funds hold the stock, how many AMCs, the average weight across all holders, and whether funds have been buying or selling in the most recent month.

Why Does Knowing Mutual Fund Holdings Matter?

When you invest in stocks directly, knowing how many mutual funds hold a particular stock gives you a sense of institutional conviction. A stock held by 50 active fund schemes across 20 different AMCs has been researched and approved by dozens of professional investment teams independently — that is meaningful information.

Equally, if you already hold a mutual fund and want to avoid doubling up on a stock you directly own, you can check whether that stock is heavily held by your fund. This tool helps you understand your true exposure across both direct stocks and mutual fund holdings.

What Exactly Does the Holdings Data Show?

For each stock search, the tool shows the latest available portfolio data for each fund — meaning the most recent month's disclosure for that fund. Because different AMCs publish their monthly disclosures on different dates, some funds may reflect the current month while others reflect the previous month. Each result card shows the month label so you always know how fresh the data is.

The portfolio weight shown is the percentage of the fund's total assets allocated to that stock. The rupee value is the disclosed market value of that holding at the time of disclosure.

How Does the 3-Month Fund Holding Trend Work?

When you search any stock, a trend table shows how many active mutual funds held that stock over the last three months — and whether conviction is growing or falling. Here is a real example using BSE Ltd (BSE Limited — the stock exchange company):

📈 BSE Ltd — Fund Holding Trend (Feb–Apr 2026)
Month Active Funds Avg Weight Trend
Apr 2026 Latest 109 2.068% ▲ +13 new
Mar 2026 96 1.566% ▲ +21 new
Feb 2026 75 1.575% Earliest
Active funds only — excludes Index/ETF funds which hold stocks mechanically. Data from official AMFI monthly portfolio disclosures.

BSE Ltd went from 75 funds in February to 109 funds in April 2026 — an addition of 34 new fund managers independently deciding to buy this stock in just two months. This kind of accelerating institutional conviction is a meaningful signal that no individual investor tracking tool in India currently shows. Search any stock above to see its own trend.

When you search for a stock, the tool also shows a sector snapshot — where this stock ranks within its sector by mutual fund popularity, and which other stocks in the same sector are most widely held. This helps you understand not just the stock in isolation but its standing within its competitive peer group from a fund manager perspective.
