How do I contact my mutual fund AMC for a complaint?
Every mutual fund AMC in India has a designated grievance redressal officer and a dedicated toll-free number. The first step is to call the AMC's toll-free number or email their grievance ID, both of which are listed on this page for each AMC. Keep your folio number and transaction details handy when contacting them.
Under SEBI regulations, every AMC is required to acknowledge your complaint within 3 business days and resolve it within 30 days. If your complaint is not resolved within this period, you can escalate it to SEBI SCORES at scores.sebi.gov.in or call 1800 22 7575. SEBI will take up your complaint directly with the AMC.
For urgent issues such as unauthorised transactions or fraud, contact your AMC's grievance email first, then report immediately to SEBI. Most large AMCs also have WhatsApp helplines listed on this page for faster response on routine queries.
What is the difference between an AMC's toll-free number and its grievance email?
An AMC's toll-free number is handled by general customer service and is suitable for queries about NAV, account statements, SIP status, redemption status and basic account information. These calls are usually answered immediately during business hours. Most AMCs also have WhatsApp numbers that work similarly for routine queries.
The grievance email (usually beginning with ig@ or grievance@) is specifically for formal complaints — wrong units allotted, delayed redemptions, dividend not credited, unauthorised transactions or any other dispute. Filing via the grievance email creates a formal record with a complaint reference number, which is essential if you need to escalate the matter to SEBI later.
Always use the grievance email for formal complaints and keep a copy of all correspondence. The toll-free number is for quick information — it does not create a formal complaint trail unless the agent logs it explicitly.
Which RTA handles my mutual fund — CAMS or KFin?
There are two main RTAs (Registrar and Transfer Agents) for mutual funds in India — CAMS (Computer Age Management Services) and KFin Technologies (formerly Karvy). Each AMC is associated with one RTA. CAMS handles AMCs including SBI, HDFC, ICICI Prudential, Axis, Kotak, DSP, Mirae, Tata, Invesco and Franklin. KFin handles AMCs including Nippon, Bandhan (formerly IDFC), Aditya Birla, UTI, PGIM, Sundaram and Edelweiss.
CAMS toll-free number is 1800 425 2267. KFin toll-free number is 1800 309 4001. You can contact your RTA for consolidated account statements across all AMCs they service, folio merging, address changes and other service requests. The RTA contact for each AMC is listed in this directory alongside the AMC's own contact details.
You can also access your consolidated account statement across all AMCs by visiting camsonline.com or mfs.kfintech.com and logging in with your PAN and registered email or mobile number.
